Portulacaria Afra Variegata, also known by various names such as Rainbow Bush, Mini Jade, Spekboom, or Elephant Bush, this versatile stemmed succulent boasts both adaptability and ease of cultivation. Thriving in warm climates, when planted outdoors, it can transform into a lush, compact shrub standing at a height of up to 4.0 feet. Alternatively, when nurtured indoors in a petite pot, it assumes the charming form of a bonsai plant. Originating from South Africa and Swaziland, this succulent flourishes on sunny, rocky slopes. Notably, it shares a unique symbiotic relationship with elephants, who consume some of its branches. In turn, their gentle trampling aids in the natural propagation of new shrubs from stem cuttings.

Watering and Light Recommendations:

Indoors: Instead of providing your succulents with small amounts of water throughout the week, it is advisable to thoroughly soak the soil until water drains from the pot's drainage holes. Ensure that any excess water in the saucer is discarded, as succulents prefer not to sit in water. Allow the soil to completely dry out before watering again.

Outdoors: During the summer, water your succulents every two weeks by giving them a deep soak and allowing the soil to dry before watering again. In the winter, watering once a month is sufficient.
