Plant Description

Austrocylindropuntia Eve's Needle Cactus is a really tall cactus that looks like a tree. It can reach up to 13 feet in the wild. Its stems have bumpy spots with prickly parts at the top. At the ends of the stems, there are long, thin, green leaves that can grow up to 5 inches long on an older plant. This cactus comes from the Andes mountains and was used in ancient Peru to make fences and needles. It also has pretty red to orange flowers that turn into reddish fruit.
